Demolition and strip-out work in Riga

Demolition and waste removal are usually two companies and two invoices — one crew knocks it down, another comes days later to take it away. We do both in one visit: take down the partition, lift the tiles or strip out the old bathroom, then collect the rubble and drive it away. No two crews to coordinate, and no debris in the hallway waiting for a collection.

Everything in one visit

Demolition and removal happen back to back, the same day. Nothing to wait for, no two companies to line up.

Dust control and room protection

We sheet up adjoining rooms, doorways and floors. Lifting tiles and hacking off mortar is dusty work, so we plan for it.

We check whether the wall is load-bearing

We do not touch load-bearing structures without a design and building authority approval. If there is doubt, we say so before the work, not after.

One price for both jobs

Both jobs are quoted together and agreed before we start — no surprise invoice for the rubble afterwards.

Interior strip-out — and the waste leaves in the same visit

The real advantage: knocking it down and taking it away happen in one visit, one company, one price. Nobody waits for one crew to finish before the next starts.

Partition walls

Brick, plasterboard and chipboard partitions. We first check the wall is not load-bearing — altering one needs building authority approval, and without it we will not do the work. Ten square metres of brick wall gives 2–3 m³ of rubble and weighs about a tonne and a half.

Tiles and wall finishes

Wall and floor tiles, the mortar bed beneath and old plaster. Tile removal is the dustiest job in any renovation, so we sheet up adjoining rooms and doorways. The rubble is heavy — 10 m² of tiles with mortar weighs 300–400 kg.

Floor coverings

Parquet, laminate, linoleum, old boarded floors and the screed underneath. Screed is the heaviest option — 20 m² can give 2–3 m³ and around two tonnes, so we plan it separately.

Sanitary ware and bathrooms

The old bath, shower cubicle, basin, toilet and tiles. A cast-iron bath alone weighs 80–120 kg and usually leaves a flat in pieces — our job, not yours.

Kitchen units

Old kitchen units, worktops, tiled splashbacks and worn-out integrated appliances. Stripped out and taken away in one go.

Doors, windows and fitted furniture

Internal doors with frames, old window units, built-in wardrobes and overhead storage. These come alongside the rest of the strip-out and need no separate visit.

What we do not do

Demolishing buildings

Taking down whole buildings with heavy plant is not our field — that needs excavators, separate permits and a different specialism. We work indoors, by hand.

Load-bearing structures

Altering load-bearing walls, floors and structures requires a design and building authority approval. If it is unclear whether a wall is load-bearing, we say so and suggest you establish it before the work, not after.

Asbestos and corrugated asbestos sheeting

Asbestos-containing materials are hazardous waste with a strictly regulated chain of handling. We neither strip them out nor remove them. If we find any, we warn you.

Electrical and gas connections

We strip out sanitary ware, but disconnecting and reworking services must be done by a certified specialist. If that is not done yet, we agree the order of work.

Frequently asked questions

Can you take down a partition wall in a flat?
A non-load-bearing one, yes. Before we start we check whether the wall is load-bearing. Altering a load-bearing structure needs a design and building authority approval, and without that we will not take the job on.
Is demolition and removal one price?
They are two pieces of work, costed separately but quoted as one total, which we agree with you before we start. The advantage is that it all happens in a single visit and you do not have to organise two companies.
How long does a bathroom strip-out take?
A standard bathroom strip-out including tile removal usually takes one working day, and the waste goes the same day. We confirm the exact timing from your photos.
